Educated the public on Ranked Choice Voting.

Developed a high school civics education program.

Supported the Virginia Redistricting Amendment by sending emails, postcards, and calling our representatives.

Commemorated Black History Month with a viewing of “Determined: The 400-Year Struggle for Black Equality” at the Museum of History and Culture.

Advocated with local Boards of Supervisors for expanding pedestrian safety infrastructure for bus riders.

Staffed our phone bank at Channel 12 to answer questions about the primary election.

 

And here is some of what we will be doing in the upcoming months:

 Presenting our civics education program to high school seniors throughout the region.

Calling local candidates to encourage them to answer VOTE411 questions and informing the public about this League of Women Voters election resource.

Informing the public about Absentee and Early Voting and Vote-By-Mail Ballots, as well as advising them about the distribution of questionable election registration/voting materials.

Registering voters in health-safe ways at sites throughout the region.

Distributing our “What You Need to Know about the November 3 Election” Fact Sheets.

Serving as citizen observers of local Election Boards.

Serving as Election Poll Workers.

Staffing our phone bank at Channel 12 to answer election questions.

Supporting the Virginia Redistricting Amendment through social media, emails, and postcards.

Sponsoring a free-and-open-to-the-public Voter Registration Training session.

Organizing a celebration of the centennial of Women’s Suffrage.
