June 20, 2023 Primary Election and November 7, 2023 General Election
On November 7 Virginia's General Election will have races for ALL Virginia House of Delegates and Senate seats, as well as races for many county boards of supervisor, school board and other local positions.
The June 20 Primary Election will have races to choose the Democratic and Republican candidates for November in SELECTED DISTRICTS.
Some important things to know:
The deadline to register for the Primary is May 30.
The deadline to register for the General Election is October 16
However, voters may register after these dates, through Election Day, and vote using a provisional ballot at early voting sites.
Legislative districts changed following the 2020 US Census of Population. Be sure to check your districts!
A witness signature is required for absentee ballots for the June Primary.
A witness signature is NOT required for absentee ballots for the November General Election, due to a change in the law.
