The Census is a count of everyone residing in the U.S. Except for international visitors here for work or vacation, everyone in the country is required to complete the Census, including people here on temporary or permanent visas, and people without documentation. The Census Bureau is legally barred from sharing its data with anyone outside the Census Bureau. Census Bureau reports are of aggregated anonymous data; not personal data.
There is no citizenship question on the 2020 Census.
You can complete the census online or by phone in 13 different languages: English, Spanish, Chinese, Vietnamese, Korean, Russian, Arabic, Tagalog, Polish, French, Haitian Creole, Portuguese, and Japanese.
